Transparency International EU (TI EU) is an international non-profit association under Belgian law (AISBL) based in Brussels. It is part of the global Transparency International movement, which works in over 100 countries worldwide, in close cooperation with the International Secretariat in Berlin. TI EU serves as the movement’s advocacy hub toward the European Union, ensuring that EU institutions, policies, and legislation foster integrity and transparency. Its mission strengthens anti-corruption efforts globally and promotes equality, justice, and accountability for citizens everywhere.
Background and Context of the Internship
As TI EU continues to expand its impact, the efficient running of its Brussels office is crucial. The organisation seeks a motivated individual with an interest in office administration to support the Head of Operations and a multicultural team of around fifteen staff members. This traineeship provides the chance to contribute to meaningful work while developing solid administrative skills in a professional, international setting.
- Main Function: Administrative assistance to Head of Operations
- Start Date: 10 November 2025
- Duration: 6 months
- Type of Contract: Convention d’Immersion Professionelle under Belgian law (38h/week)
- Location: Brussels, Belgium (hybrid work model: office + teleworking)
Duties and Responsibilities
The trainee will play a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning of TI EU’s operations. Responsibilities include:
- Handling correspondence, including emails.
- Providing support for finance/accounting and other administrative and HR tasks.
- Organising work trips and meetings, including preparation and minute-taking.
- Reception and guest welcoming functions.
- Organising logistics for meetings and events.
- Supporting office services (ordering supplies, maintaining office order).
- Performing ad hoc administrative duties as required.
Eligibility Requirements
- Relevant studies and/or experience in administrative assistance.
- Excellent command of French and English (both written and spoken). Dutch and other languages are an asset.
- Some knowledge of Belgian law and administration is an advantage.
- Dynamic, organised, flexible, and comfortable in both independent and team-based work.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Commitment to the values and goals of Transparency International.
- At the start of their career (no more than 5 years of relevant working experience).
- Legal right to reside and work in Belgium.
