Eligibility/Requirements:

To apply for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Academic Background:

Currently studying engineering, environmental science, economics, or political science, with a focus on energy policy or economics, at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.

Experience: A solid understanding of energy policy and issues, such as energy system planning, financing, electricity market design, and energy technology. Previous academic or practical experience in these areas is beneficial.

Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office and digital media, with strong research and analytical skills. Fluency in both German and English (spoken and written) is required.

Personal Qualities:

Ability to work independently, proactive mindset, and a keen interest in sustainable energy solutions, particularly in developing countries.

Other Requirements: You must be currently enrolled in university, participating in a continuing education program that includes an internship, or have completed your studies no more than six months prior to the internship start date.

Conditions of the Internship:

Position Type: Full-time Internship

Duration: 01.09.2025 – 31.01.2026

Location: Eschborn, Germany

Compensation: Interns will receive a monthly salary of €2,205.04 (gross).

Your Tasks:

As an intern in the PACT project, you will:Conduct research on energy policy topics and development cooperation, preparing statements, overviews, and presentations.Assist in creating knowledge products, including presentations of GIZ’s energy portfolio and the status of the energy transition in partner countries.Provide organizational and administrative support, including knowledge management and logistics for project events.Potentially prepare an in-depth technical paper on energy transition topics, depending on mutual agreement.
