Internship Overview

Position Title: African Union Intern
Location: AU Headquarters and Departments (Addis Ababa or assigned AU locations)
Agency: African Union Commission
Job Schedule: Full Time (Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00)
Duration: Minimum of 3 months, extendable to 6 months

Purpose of the Internship

The internship program aims to:

  • Expose young professionals to AU operations early in their careers.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a national of an AU Member State.
  • Be aged between 22 and 32 at the time of application.
  • Be enrolled in full-time undergraduate (final year), postgraduate, or be a recent graduate from a recognized institution.
  • Be fluent in at least one AU official language: Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, or Kiswahili.
  • Meet the eligibility outlined in the AU’s terms of reference.

  1. Motivation letter stating what you hope to gain from the internship.
  2. Copy of valid passport or national ID card.
