📌 Background and Context
The selected intern will join the Marketing and Dissemination Unit under the supervision of the Team Leader. The unit plays a crucial role in ensuring that ECLAC publications are accessible, visually engaging, and compliant with digital publishing standards.
This internship will provide hands-on experience with tools like Adobe InDesign, HTML, and CSS, while contributing to the production of ePubs, digital layouts, and web-ready publications.
🛠️ Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for:
- Supporting the layout, preparation, and conversion of digital publications, with emphasis on ePub production in Adobe InDesign.
- Editing and designing documents in Adobe InDesign.
- Creating and managing paragraph and character styles to standardize editorial production.
- Preparing and exporting publications in EPUB format.
- Reviewing and optimizing HTML and CSS code generated during the export process.
- Collaborating in implementing best practices for accessibility and usability in digital publications.
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following:
- Be enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme, or currently in/completed a Master’s or PhD in Design, Editorial Design, Graphic Design, or related fields.
- Practical experience in Adobe InDesign is required.
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS is highly desirable.
- No prior professional work experience is required, but academic training in related fields is essential.
🌐 Languages
- Fluency in Spanish is required.
- Working knowledge of English is required.
- Knowledge of French or another official UN language is an asset.
