Context and Background of the Internship

At GIZ, the Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF) has been at the forefront of advancing the energy transition in India and Germany. Since its establishment in 2006, IGEF has played a vital role in promoting political dialogue on energy transformation, working closely with both the Indian and German governments. The H2Uppp program, supported by IGEF, focuses on fostering the green hydrogen market and power-to-X applications in India. The program targets the early stages of green hydrogen project development, working with both public and private sector stakeholders to build a sustainable energy future.As an intern, you will be part of the team driving this exciting initiative, supporting renewable energy projects and contributing to the global transition toward clean energy.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this internship, you must meet the following criteria: A completed Bachelor’s degree or ongoing Master’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, geosciences, political science, economics, or related fields. Knowledge in renewable energy or energy industry projects, particularly in hydrogen and PtX, is a plus.Previous professional experience in project or event management or public relations is desirable.

Experience working in GIZ partner countries or intercultural environments is an advantage.

Strong conceptual, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Office and fluency in both German and English.

The internship is available only to currently enrolled students, students in continuing education programs that include an internship, or recent graduates (within six months of graduation).

Responsibilities

During your internship, you will support the team in a variety of content and organizational tasks, including:

Research and analysis on renewable energies, hydrogen, and PtX technologies.

Coordination with stakeholders and project partners in both Germany and India.

Assistance in preparing contracts, budgets, and project documentation.

Content support for specialist events, workshops, and dialogue sessions with partner countries and institutions.

Planning and coordinating project initiation trips and technical visits to Germany.

Day-to-day project management support, including organizing internal work meetings.

Assisting with public relations and external communications, such as creating infographics and preparing reports.
