The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) is looking for an Online Volunteer to support its digital communications and visibility efforts in Ethiopia.

UNOCHA is part of the UN Secretariat, bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coordinated and principled response during crises. Its mission is to mobilize humanitarian action, advocate for the rights of people in need, and promote preparedness and sustainable solutions. In Ethiopia, UNOCHA is actively addressing humanitarian needs caused by conflict in the North, drought in the East and South, and displacement due to violence in central and southern regions.

Ethiopia faces multiple, overlapping humanitarian crises, and OCHA’s work is vital in ensuring timely, effective responses. To amplify its impact, OCHA is ramping up its communications and advocacy efforts. This assignment offers a unique opportunity for an Online Volunteer to use their creativity and digital skills to raise awareness and strengthen global engagement.

🛠️ Duties and Responsibilities

As an Online Volunteer, you will:

Design engaging multimedia content (infographics, carousels, short videos).
Adapt existing materials for different platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn).
Ensure compliance with UN branding and accessibility standards.
Edit and repurpose photo/video material for social media.
Provide creative input to enhance storytelling and engagement.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

Ideal candidates will bring:

Proven experience in social media content design and creation.
Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), or similar tools.
A strong portfolio of social media content.
Creativity, proactivity, and ability to meet deadlines.
A degree in Communications or Graphic Design (asset, not mandatory).
Fluent English.
