About the UNDP Washington Internships
The UNDP Washington Representation Office (WRO) serves as the primary liaison between UNDP and key U.S. entities such as Congress, the State Department, USAID, and the World Bank Group. Interns here get an up-close look at UNDP’s day-to-day operations and will contribute to tasks that influence global development. The WRO offers two types of internship opportunities:
- General Internship – Engage in diverse tasks related to multilateral technical cooperation, including supporting policy discussions, planning events, and assisting in daily operations. Ideal for those with interests in law, economics, government, or international studies.
- Communications & Outreach Internship – Support the creation and execution of UNDP’s communications strategy. This role focuses on media relations, social media management, and content creation, ideal for those with strong communication skills.
How to Apply
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Enrollment in a graduate-level program in fields such as communications, development, economics, or public administration.
- A commitment to work for at least 3 months, 3 days a week (24 hours/week), with a maximum of 6 months.
- Strong interest in global development and learning opportunities.
- Written and spoken proficiency in English.
