This is your chance to join GIZ International Services (InS) in Brussels as an Intern (m/f/d) and work at the heart of international development policy while earning a monthly stipend of €1,350 (gross).
About GIZ International Services (InS)
For over 50 years, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), on behalf of the German Federal Government, has been working to improve lives worldwide.
Through its International Services (InS) branch, GIZ also provides professional services to major clients such as the European Commission, European Investment Bank, and international donors.
The Brussels office is at the center of this work, managing large-scale projects in climate change, sustainable energy, finance, and economic development, with a strong focus on global impact and results-oriented solutions.
📌 Duties and Responsibilities
As an intern, you will support the Brussels team with tasks that give you real exposure to international project management and policy work, including:
- Assisting in the acquisition process for international tenders (research, partner identification, admin tasks).
- Preparing background papers, presentations, and concept notes.
- Supporting project implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Maintaining databases, partner contacts, and documentation.
- Assisting with knowledge management and communications.
- Providing logistical and administrative support for InS operations in Brussels.
🎓 Requirements
To thrive in this internship, you should bring:
- Enrollment in or recent completion (within 6 months) of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Strong interest in international cooperation and development policy.
- Excellent English (spoken and written); fluency in German and/or French is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of development policy, monitoring and evaluation.
- Strong analytical, drafting, and organizational skills.
- Proactive, flexible, and able to work well under pressure.
- Familiarity with MS Office; MS SharePoint and Lists are a plus.
- Experience using AI platforms is considered an advantage.
