Purpose of the Internship

The Digital Transformation Internship is designed to engage motivated individuals who want to explore how digital tools and innovation can advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Interns will join the Chief Digital Office and contribute to high-impact projects that include AI readiness, data strategies, product design, policy innovation, and strategic communications. This is a rare opportunity to be at the intersection of development and technology, while working remotely with UNDP teams across the globe.

Duties and Responsibilities

Depending on your skills and interests, you may contribute to one or more of the following workstreams:

Inclusive Digital Ecosystems: Support digital inclusion, AI ethics, connectivity, and governance frameworks.
Country Office Support: Assist with digital readiness assessments, data and AI strategies, and capacity building.
Digital Strategy Implementation: Research and track progress on UNDP’s digital transformation; draft briefs, speeches, and reports.
Product Design & AI Tools: Support design, testing, and delivery of digital products, apps, and platforms.
Strategic Communications & Partnerships: Create content for blogs, social media, and newsletters; help build partnerships with tech companies and NGOs.
Operations & Change Management: Assist in organizing workshops, improving processes, and supporting UNDP’s internal transformation.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following:

Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s or higher), OR
Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s program, OR
A recent graduate (within 12 months).

Other requirements:

Strong interest in digital transformation, technology, or innovation for development.
Excellent written and verbal English.
Ability to work remotely and adapt to a multicultural environment.
Knowledge or experience in digital tools, AI, or communications is an asset.
